Japanese anemones

We have several varieties of these charming flowers in our garden, so today I'm featuring three as a triptych.  The first is actually supposed to be pink, pale but definitely pink, but  this year it has looked a bit faded.  We are still waiting for the Autumn colours to arrive properly, both here and in the forest.

In other news:  Violet was finally able to return to school today after a week off.  Firstly her elbow that dislocated twice in one day a week ago, needed care and rest and then, the stress of it triggered a few days of high temperatures linked to her glandular fever last year.  Any trauma or stress seems to bring on a bout but hopefully the episodes will continue to get shorter and less frequent over time
