Riotous

Not the behaviour of my family this afternoon, but the combination of colours on the upper slopes of Benmore Gardens this afternoon - one of these shrubs with the pink, plastic-looking berries beside a wonderfully flame-coloured cascade of leaves. By this time my older granddaughter and I had fallen quite a way behind the others, mainly because she’s becoming as obsessed with taking photos as I am.

A lovely afternoon that ended with my scraping a mountain of baby potatoes and frying fish for six. It was a great success, but I’d prefer not to repeat the feat any time soon ...
