Shh Who're going to call?

New York Public Library periodicals reading room. An amazing building (and featured in the Ghostbusters film). We called in here as we did our recce at Penn station for our journey to the airport tomorrow. Just round the corner from Macy's department store, we had a look round and used their facilities! The old style wooden escalators are still in use here.
We then went to visit the 9/11 memorial, a very atmospheric place to spend some quiet moments.
Before the rain and bad weather closed in we went to the observation deck at the One World Tower, such incredible views a pity it wasn't a clearer day. When we came down it had started to rain but we thought we'd catch the free Staten Island ferry to get a closer glimpse of the Statue of Liberty - and a glimpse it was through the rain! It was torrential! A quick dash to the nearest subway and a circuitous ride back to the hotel to dry out and have a hotel room picnic before retiring to bed ready for an early start on the final leg of our journey tomorrow!
