THE SHAG

It has been said that this pose by the shag has a spiritual significance but in fact its a very practical one. The shag feathers get water logged  water as it fishes under water - it can only last around 30 minutes under water. It then comes out and opens its wings to the elements to dry - returning later to feed again.  Waterlogged wings are no good for flying either hence the drying process. Nature has its ways.
