Otter Ferry
We set out along a single track road on the Cowal Peninsula towards The Oystercatcher restaurant at Otter Ferry. We’ve been here before, but came by sea. In fact if you look carefully to the right of the post you can see one of the orange mooring buoys for visiting yachts. The pathway you can see beside the post is the start of the jetty where you can tie up tenders.
It was sunny when we arrived but a squall came down the Lough and it started raining quite heavily just after we’d made it back to the car. We headed back the way we’d come (no other choice on the road!) and stopped at Portavadie for coffee. This is another place we’ve visited by boat, so it was interesting to see the landward environs.
We had a walk in the rain once we returned to Tighnabruaich and are now warm and getting drier back in the hotel. We’re going to meet up with one of the Ards Man’s sailing buddies this evening, so it will be good to meet a local!
Now going to put our feet up and read our books until then....
