Day 1

Day 1 .... in the UK looking after the grandchildren while Mummy and Daddy go to a wedding in NY! Early plane, then train which only went part way due to power cut, then bus from station! Our driver was a short lady, as wide as she was tall and very busty! She informed us it was 2 years since she’d done the route and could we the passengers tell her the order of the stations she had to stop at! It was hilarious. She drove at top speed and advised us that she usually drives a ‘decker’! Interesting start to the day. Our son arranged a surprise trip to the RNLI HQ in Poole where a friend of his is a manager. We saw lots including the beautiful restaurant (where we ate later for half price as it was between 4 and 6) and the lovely hotel there. We saw lifeboats being done up, various equipment and had a go in the lifeboat simulator which the children and us adults loved. What a great start to our trip. Mummy and Daddy leave tomorrow morning! These are photos taken with their heads through cut outs. They didn’t get dressed up!!
