Standing up to be counted.

Some of you may have come across Helena on Blipfoto already, and if you have you will know that she is passionate about standing up for what she believes in and for human rights.  Despite being Blip friends for a few years, only yesterday did Helena and I meet face-to-face when she flew into London (from Berlin) to join the Brexit protest that is happening this coming weekend.

Helena is here to raise awareness of the plight of many ex-pats in Europe, who imminently face loss of their healthcare funding - the UK government will stop sending money to Europe for this post-Brexit.  Even those who pay tax in the UK, but live in Europe, will lose their funding.

This image shows Helena with the placard I made her.  Not being able to board a BA flight with such an item, we plotted to create one that she could collect when she arrived in London.  True European collaboration!
