Sewing Machine

This afternoon we walked down to one of the local pubs in Wirksworth.
The Hope & Anchor has some old Singer sewing machines on display as well as the table legs all being made with old iron Singer machine supports.

Quite fitting as I had just started reading The Sewing Machine which starts off in the old Royal Infirmary building in Edinburgh where I trained as a nurse in the 80’s. The scene quickly moved on to the Singer sewing machine factory in Clydebank.

Anyway, several cokes and a couple more games of Scrabble later, we moved from the cosy snug with its wood fire to the bar area where we each enjoyed a very tasty dinner.

I won neither game today :(
Middle daughter is declared the winner of the week.
She’s happy.
