A bit of colour
Our front garden is my responsibility. I tend to leave the larger back garden to the tender care of MrsW who is by far the most dedicated gardener of the two of us. To keep things simple I decided to have only white flowers in the front. There are 4 white Iceberg roses surrounded most of the year by white pelargoniums and through the winter by white cyclamen. That way I don't have to worry about matching colours. However while we were on holiday a mauve petunia snuck into one of the beds from god knows where. I didn't have the heart to pull it out and it didn't seem to be annoying its neighbours so I let it be. I'm glad I did. We've had a few very grey days this week and that little dash of colour has definitely lifted things at the front of the house. So here's to you little petunia, may you enjoy your autumn days. Even if you are subverting my minimalist designs :-)
