Maremma cow

The Maremma lies south of Livorno, west of Grosseto and north of Monte Argentario. A mix of marshland and low hills it was described as hell by Dante and was home to the buttero - an Italian cowboy - who tended these almost prehistoric beasts that feature in Etruscan art.
