Lichfield City.
We spent a lovely autumn afternoon in Lichfield today, visiting a friend who had moved into an apartment in the Cathedral Close.
The view from his main window looks directly on to the wonderful façade opposite.
The rear looks out over the Medicinal Garden of Erasmus Darwin.
It so so peaceful. Except he has had to get used to the quarter hour chimes of the Cathedral clock!
Whilst we were there we could hear a rehearsal for a concert to take place this evening.
We saw a bride and groom arrive on foot with the gleaming Silver Cloud Rolls Royce driving slowly behind them in the sunshine. They had walked around the corner from the Registry Office to have some photos taken with the Cathedral as a backdrop. She had a beautiful dress with a long train and veil. He was in a very smart dark navy suit.
I took a couple of photos of them whilst a couple of men nearby were photographing the Rolls-Royce!
We went on the train as the station is a 5 minute walk from here. As we were walking towards the Cathedral we watched various colourful troops of Morris Men and Folk Dancers along with their accompanying musicians. It was the Folk Festival.Their costumes were so very unique.
I wish I had some “extras” to post one or two. I have none left.
I guess I’ll put one on tomorrow’s Blip!
On our way back to the station we always pass the Minster Pool situated not far from the Cathedral.
It is such a tranquil place.
A place you can just sit and pause.
It’s my photo for today.
