The Moon in Leicester Cathedral

Len, Basil, Colin and I went to Leicester Cathedral this evening to listen to a wonderful sitar and tabla concert put on by the UK Sitar Society in honour of Diwali.

An impressive multi cultural audience in the cathedral.

We were supremely lucky to see the Moon hanging over the proceedings thanks to the Museum of the Moon. It's a scale model of the moon depicted by NASA photos at 1:500,000. One cm represents five kilometres on the moon. The side of the moon that we don't see from Earth is more heavily cratered than the side we do see.

The music was breath taking.

Earlier, I'd been to Colin's to partake of G&T. His hostas are decaying gently and look very autumnal. See extra.
