Peacock Bookmark

I made this bookmark last weekend for the monthly competition at our SWI (Scottish Women’s Institute).  The competition was for a knitted or sewn bookmark. We’re not a large group but I was still pleased to be awarded first place.
The peacock was worked by filling in the background with cross stitch. It’s called Assisi work and was a bit of a strain on the eyes.
