Hairwash!
23 days old.
Life in the Euan Bubble was particularly frenetic today. I awoke at 4am and, unable to get back to sleep, took my Ann Cleeves out in to the living room to read. Shortly after 5, I heard Euan stir and Becky emerged. It seemed the night had been particularly 'trumpy' (in the nicest sense of the word) and none of them had had a great deal of sleep. It was like those Carlyle nights all those years ago when Tony and I would strap Becky in to her car seat and take off around the villages in the wee small hours in our pyjamas. This time Becky said did I want to come out for a stroller stroll. By the time I was dressed and Tony was up saying he would come too, we had gone in to Plan B. This involved giving Rob some sleep so he was fit to drive the U Haul, whilst we three plus Euan took a circuitous walk to where the car was parked in the Hospital carpark (the U Haul was taking up their space in the apartment carpark), then we would pick up some breakfast from the early morning Caffe Nero and head off with more boxes to Salem. Which is what we did! There was a spectacular sunrise over the USS Constitution in Boston Harbour as Euan embarked on his first nighttime stroller adventure (totally oblivious by the time we reached Bunker Hill Monument). After a push through the Navy Dockyard (all gentrified apartments and businesses and MGH offices/research buildings now) we located the car, dropped off Tony at the apartment to wake Rob then drove to the cafe, which was just opening. Back to the apartment with wake everyone up coffees and we were off through the quietest traffic yet, to the house in Salem.
Boxes were unloaded and the bathroom measured up for tiles and we were off again to drop off the U Haul and hit the Tile Warehouse, a HUGE building! Tiles duly selected, we were home by 11am. Life will be much easier when we are in one place next week!
Euan's schedule, such as it is, being thrown out of the window, Becky decided to give him a bath. Here he is after having his face and hair washed before the full immersion, well a brief sit in a couple of inches of warm water! His hair has gone all cute and fluffy.
