Clisham in distance
Headed away early to Uig area for some hills.
Roaring stags giving the sound track of the day. First hill the highest point of Lewis, stunning viewpoint.
Headed along the ridge to next peak another great view with the distant Harris hills dominating the east. Decided to head north to go over another hill. Tough terrain, boulders crags and vertical bogs. A gentle ascent to a steep sided final hill. I carefully descended to the lowest point. It took ages due to the steep crags.
Headed back cross country under the first hill with massive boulders making it challenging at places. Back to the road to be met be a worried wife. 2 hours late getting old and really tough terrain.
A pleasant drive back and I made dinner for the household and eco son turned up. A feast of local lamb.
Bath and early to bed.
F
Mealaisbhal, cracabhal and tahabhal the hills today.
