cream or jam first?

had afternoon tea at the RAF club this afternoon. As usual it was excellent but we had a debate over wether the Cornish or Devon way was best. I did a randomised controlled trial and found it was easier to put the jam onto the cream than vice versa. I couldn't detect any difference on tasting though. Not sure my findings on two scones were significant though so may have to try on a few more!
