Dreich

Jet-lagged, it was easy to get up in time for the first talks on the conference - at 08:00 on a Sunday! Finding food was harder so, rather than go to a dull plenary, I walked down to the delightful Pikes Place market, where I ate in a café overlooking the sea. I was surrounded with Seattle Seahawks (and a few Baltimore Ravens) supporters, and after the last interesting talk of the day, I went to the stadium to see what tickets were available for the game. I baulked at paying $199, which might have been an expensive way to aggravate my cold by sitting for three hours in an outdoor stadium. By the time I'd got back to my Airbnb the weather could only be described as dreich!
