Who Knew?

Who knew that Phil Freelon was the architect of the new African American museum in Washington, DC?  Who knew that Phil Freelon was married to Nnenna Freelon, the jazz singer?  Who knew that Phil Freelon was also a photographer?

The man pictured here knows a lot about the Freelons.  He befriended them when they lived in Brunswick County, North Carolina.  One of the photographs in the collection on exhibit, "Structure in Space and Time", was contributed by the 86 year old Thomas, who spoke informally to those viewing the exhibit today.  The abstract in architecture seemed to be the focus of his work in photography.
