Open or closed?

These signs at a business are a bit confusing. Maybe the light on "open" should have the option of being turned off. Also, the operating days are really strange. Closed Monday, Wednesday and Sunday? What's up with that?

This downtown area gives me an idea for a week-long photo project. A lot of these businesses have tile with the old store names at the entrances. Maybe I could do a week of those.
