Bassenthwaite

D and Tom had work to do today so Helen and I packed a rucksack, threw our walking boots into the car and headed over to The Lakes.
Our first stop was Caldbeck where we had a good walk from the village and along the river, through some lovely woodland and with some super views over the North Lakes. We went to the tea shop in the village for lunch and discussed our next move. I really wanted to take a photo of a lake and Bassenthwaite was the nearest to where we were. It was a slightly nerve wracking drive down very twisty, narrow roads but we found a good parking place and walked down a short path to the side of the lake where we took lots of photos. We were so lucky with the weather which was beautiful and very warm.
This evening we’re all going over to H and T’s for Thai curry and us girls will have a go at reclaiming our Triv crown.
