Reflections on the Canal.
Wednesday is cycling day, other people go hill walking near Biggar, I go cycling. I have a non-negotiable day pass for Wednesdays and, since there isn't a set time to arrive back at TD Towers, I do tend to make full use of it. Today, the lunch destination was Linlithgow Church Hall via the canal tow path, the latter being where the blip was blipped. The weather was good in the morning giving many opportunities but they do have to be grabbed in a hurry; it's a bit like blipping old ladies on mobility scooters, you drop back to grab the shot and then have to go like mad to catch up again.
Linlithgow Loch provided me with another interesting picture which is worthy of Blipfolio, particularly as I don't have too many entries (and most of them are from the main journal).
The route to the Ratho Climbing Centre (we stop there for afternoon coffee and cheese scones) took us along a two and a half mile muddy footpath that skirts the Western side of Almondell Country Park. There is usually a best line to follow under these circumstances and the rear wheel of a bike does conveniently tend to follow the front one; on three wheels however, you need the front wheel to take the best line, as that's the one that controls where you are going, while the side wheels (a trike doesn't have back wheels) then have to go through the sticky, glutinous mud, this makes the experience comparable to swimming through treacle. Suffice it to say that I needed the rest when we did eventually stop. Talk over coffee was about Blipfoto and such like. This is fast becoming a "blipping" obsession.
I arrived home, as always, a tired but happy boy.
