Daniel Craig-Off

Even weirder than Christmas Eve on the beach was Christmas day on the beach. I think the weirdness stems from the massive contrast in atmosphere. At home in England, we all huddle inside and crank up the heating whilst staring out at the grey drizzle. Yes it's bleak, but it's also extremely cosy. Being outside on the beach with hundreds of other people is definitely the opposite of bleak, but it's also the opposite of cosy.

The situation is a trade off. I think I prefer bleak and cosy. Although, it goes without saying that when I spend Christmas in grey miserable England next year I'll be saying the complete opposite.

In Casino Royal there's a scene where Daniel Craig walks out of the ocean. It's now beach tradition to emulate him and out compete each other. Accordingly, much to the confusion of onlookers, we had our own little family Daniel Craig-Off.

It almost felt cosy.
