Birds-a-Plenty

Those of you that see my posts know that I had gotten a Canon 100-400L lens last week and tried it for a few days and sent it back for some focusing issues. Here are some pics taken with it.

In its place I ordered a 70-300L lens and got it last night. I took it to the pond this morning for a test drive, and WHOA! This is a really nice lens. I didn't see any of the issues I had with the 100-400, plus it is lighter and sharper!!

Here is a shot from right after I got there that has no fewer that five species of birds in it. It is best viewed large.

There are ring billed gulls, ibis, black-bellied whistling ducks, muscovey ducks, a wood stork..... Not the best pic I took all day, by far, but one the really shows how nice this public park in Ocala, Fl is. Here are some more from today with ny new toy!
