Bandstand Lie Down

A guided walk to see a selection of war memorials close to and in Hyde Park. Organised by the Friends of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens we strolled from Hyde Park Corner, where we admired the Australian and New Zealand memorials amongst others, up towards Marble Arch and back to the Serpentine. In the middle of Park Lane is a memorial to the animals of war "They had no choice". Very moving and a brilliant bronze of a struggling mule hauling a gun - see extra.

I didnt disturb this gent from his afternoon nap as we passed by on the way to a grand finalé of tea and cakes in the Serpentine Bar by the lake.
