Fishy
Our Wednesday walk with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers took us out to Aberfoyle for a wee trek in the Loch Ard Forest, part of the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Twenty-seven of us met in the car park at Aberfoyle, a slightly higher-than-usual number for a Wednesday, and we had a good, dry day with the sun even making an appearance from time to time.
Although much of the walk was in forest, it was not short of some good views over the Trossachs and some interesting diversions. One of our stops was at Lochan Spling with its wonderful fish sculpture (pictured) which is described on the internet as a pike. We also took a walk up Doon Hill to visit the 'Fairy Tree' (extra).
Coffee afterwards at the Scottish Wool Centre.
