Surprise, surprise!

Big Sis was on 'Mum duty' this week .... so we had the day to ourselves!

It was quite a pleasant day ....... dry too! Having seen the weather forecast for the next few days I decided it was time to finish tidying up the garden before doing the shopping.

We trimmed back the Lavender ....... as we walked past the Globe Thistle (Echinops) we noticed some new growth. Not just a few new leaves as has happened before .... but 2 new stem with flowers appearing! Amazing!

Today's blip shows the new flowers peeping through the dead stems ....... also a close up of one of them! Still cannot believe it!

We did cut back all the dead stems ...... now waiting to see if the flowers actually open! Watch this space!
