Skylines

With a five shot exposure blend to cater for the dynamic range, I needed considerable adjustment to the highlights and shadows to balance the image and bring out the details and colour. An slightly earlier shot had the bright light just out of view, but I preferred the sky in this one just seconds before the last light disappeared.

I think the random lines in the sky resemble those of the foreground reeds and relating elements in the frame creates connections for the eye to follow. I added a subtle overall glow to bring out the colours of the setting sun.

It was quite a pleasant evening to stand by the water's edge.
