Canal Day 6 - Anderton Lift

We continued up the Trent and Mersey canal until we got to the Anderton Lift as K & G hadn't seen it before. On previous trips The Man & I had taken our boat into the huge tanks (caissons) and been lowered down onto the river Weaver. No time for that this trip but it was good to see this great 1875 piece of engineering designed for the salt insustry.

We turned the boat around and heaaded back towards the Aqueduct Marina.
