Open University graduation

Our youngest son Tom received his graduation at Birmingham Symphony Hall today.

He started an OU degree course when he was serving in the Royal Marines about 10 years ago.   He continued his studies after he left and despite working full time he finally achieved a First in computing and Information Technology a couple of years ago.  He invited us to his graduation ceremony which was held today in the amazing surroundings of Symphony Hall.

It was a lovely colourful and fun ceremony and interesting as the graduates were generally older than normal university graduates.   As the presiding officer observed in her address most of the graduates had achieved their degrees while bringing up families and holding down jobs.

An amazing achievement.   Very proud!
