Diary of an Edinburgher

Autumny in patches

If we thought it was cold yesterday, well, it was bloomin' freezing today! The duffle coat made its first appearance.

A & B have a couple of family gatherings today and tomorrow, so they're very busy. Good to kill two birds with one stone (visiting us and visiting family).

A couple of young ladies came round to meet Archie with a view to taking him out for walks, starting next week. They're very keen to share the duties, and were impressed with his range of tricks.

We took him out for a walk to the Meadows, via a cafe, and after he'd dragged us past the Red Box, we found a new one. A gift shop lifestyle store has just opened, and it had one wee table and two classy leather chairs, so we tried the coffee. https://www.travellingbasket.co.uk/ It has quite a selection of things from different countries - baskets, teapots, candles, rugs, lights.. but with only one table and a bench, so it's not a cafe, really. Don’t know how they'll do... but the (Polish) chap was very nice, and had nice quiet jazz music on, so I congratulated him. Good coffee too. But he'd run out of cinnamon buns...

We walked over the Meadows, but not really autumny colours yet, just in patches.

BIG game tomorrow. Go the ABs!
