It would be a fair statement that I never used the [built-in] flash on the Sony.  I guess I may have done once or twice but probably by accident and certainly not publishing the results.  The olympus comes with a dinky little separate flash which is great - gets past the lens and can be steered for bouncing off the ceiling, as here.

It's probably still not something I'll use a lot, but it's nice to know it's a viable option now.
