Elephant

Having watched the very sad scene on Africa last night where nature was at its most brutal, and heard the news of the worst recorded incident of ivory poaching in Kenya's history, I can't get elephants off my mind.
I love them. Pure and simple. (hence the elephant ornament in the photo, I bought it at a fair trade charity stall) I feel very sad today at hearing the news in Kenya and learning more about the illegal ivory trade in China on tonight's news.

Such beautiful creatures should be treasured, not hunted for human greed, to decorate our homes or to show how rich we are.

Awful stuff.
