Sunrise over Smeaton

Despite some quite heavy downpours over night, we were treated to a pretty, if understated sunrise this morning. Up around 5 and on the road by 7.

It’s been a long day; we’ve escaped for a couple of hours to Castlemaine, about 15 km away. It’s given us a bit head space and some good food, and the car a good run, after driving at walking pace for the past two days.

We had a beautiful (if slightly soggy) mass in our makeshift outdoor chapel. 500 chilly pilgrims!
