You must have all come across this situation. You approach a large roundabout, you have never encountered before. You pick the lane that has your destination scored in the road surface. You follow the lane a few yards around the curve of the roundabout to suddenly find the lane you are in, is no longer the lane you want, but has mysteriously been shuffled into the adjacent lane. Much to the annoyance of the following traffic you then have to cut across them.
