Whooper swans

What a great morning!. After yesterday's non stop rain the skies cleared and I was up with the lark to go to Donna Nook before the crowds.  Not to see the seals "cos there aren't many yet, but to see what bird life there was out on the marsh. I was not disappointed!
But my favourite were this family of Whooper swans. Parents and 3 young. First I saw them way out on the marsh then they flew to a newly flooded area before flying off to feed. What a treat for me. It almost neutralised my disappointment at today"s rugby late on in the morning.
in my extras I have a curlew and egret - also two great birds of the marsh.
