Crunching...
...through Autumn leaves makes me happy.
I didn't sleep all that well last night. I don't know if it had something to do with the clocks going back. I kept waking up and looking at the illuminated digital clock on the dressing table and trying to work out what time it would have been.
Also we brought the dog into our bedroom last night as she had been barking downstairs because people on our street seemed to be coming or going quite late which is unusual. Bella doesn't normally bark much and we didn't want her disturbing the neighbours...or us! In the early hours she was doing that very quiet, low whine to let me know she was awake. I told her to shut up and she put her head down again. When I woke up at 05.30 she wasn't there anymore. She doesn't like sleeping upstairs - she's a creature of habit.
We came back down to the boat today as it is where we are happiest. We were only back at the house for our visitors. First we went into Skipton to find some DVDs in the charity shops.
I was really tired this afternoon but couldn't fall asleep so we went for a lovely walk with Bella instead.
A beautiful Autumn day, crisp, the sun low in the blue sky and crunchy leaves underfoot.
It's evening now and we're warm and cosy by the stove ready to watch a DVD.
Happy day! :-)
