Walk to Rievaulx Abbey

After yesterday’s dreadful weather, what a difference today. How lucky we have been for our walk from Helmsley to Rievaulx Abbey and back.
Just glorious.
A perfect day, and with the autumn colours glowing in the sunshine.

We were surprised to have so many turn up.
13 in all including us two.
For most it meant driving about 60 miles.
Well worth in though.
A few of us stopped off at the pub in Sutton Under Whitestone Cliff for refreshments on the way home.
A lovely end to a great day.

Very difficult to choose a blip, so I have put the photo I took, on the way back, of Helmsley Castle as an extra. the sun was dropping down, and the light was changing to golden.
It was a toss up which to use.
I wonder which you like best?
