A Contrast of a Day
After almost 30 hours of incessant rain this morning started cold and clear.
I saw the first evidence of a ground frost on some sheltered plants and I was glad of gloves and a hat as I took an early walk. This is a small copse of silver birch near one of our canals. I used a double exposure to emphasise the early sunlight just penetrating the trees.
Then it was home for the second Rugby World Cup semi final. It would have been brilliant to have two northern hemisphere teams in the final, but it was not to be. Despite the close score line, it often felt inevitable that South Africa would prevail. Given we will be in Wales next weekend, it might perhaps be a blessing that they didn't go through!
