I know this is cheating, but I have always found this woman beautiful & fascinating.

Not only was she a major star in MGM's "Golden Age" she was also a highly gifted mathematician & along with a composer friend patented in 1941 an early technique of spread spectrum communications & frequency hopping. This was the fore runner of Wi-fi & Bluetooth.

She applied to be a member of "The National Inventors Council" but was told she could better help the War effort by selling War Bonds!!
