Backblipped
Up early to continue getting reading for our friends visiting later.
The beef in red wine was being cooked in my slow cooker so once the ingredients were prepared and bunged in the casserole, it was switched on and I could forget about it. Such an easy dish to make for a dinner party.
Quick trip out this afternoon to pick up some last minute things for tonight. Grabbed my blip.
For one we were organised which was just as well as Aileen and Jim arrived just after 7pm (the agreed time was 7.30pm but they'd misread the text!) so at least we were prepared (we are normally at the coo's tail and guests arrive literally seconds after we declare ourselves ready! :-)
Ian and Cathy arrived at 7.30 as agreed and Lola was in absolute heaven with 4 new people to charm. She was only 6 months old when she last saw them. Thankfully they are all dog people so enjoyed playing with her and giving her lots of cuddles. She was very well behaved apart from stealing Cathy's napkin from her lap and taking it off to her bed to happily shred it.
We had a really lovely night catching up with the four of them. Dinner was a great success with seconds enjoyed all round.
Aileen and Jim stayed over. Ian and Cathy had planned to say over but their son hurt his back this afternoon so they were needed in the morning t help out with their three year old grandson.
Ian and Cathy left just after 12.30 but the four of us left ended up chatting til almost 3am. Not quite so bad as the clocks went back an hour so only 2am really :-)))
