Looking ahead ...
Firstly ... I'm halfway through the week. Yeay! I am SO looking forward to my TFIF moment.
Heading home from Switzerland, sans camera, so I braved the wrath of scary cabin crew lady, and turned on my electronic device before we were allowed, (No really, they're Swiss, they're quite ferocious about following rules!!) and managed a cheeky snaps of Alps, Lake and Sunset. Then I counted my many blessings.
When I have a hideous presentation to get through at work, or something medical, or anything I don't particularly want to do, I always say to myself ... no matter how bad it is, it will end. It will pass, It will be over.
(OK, It's more convincing when i'm saying it about a 2 hour meeting on corporate strategy than a week when all of your safety nets are being cut away - but still, it's just a matter of scale. It will be over).
Friday night will get here.
I will have a glass of something alcoholic in my mitt.
I will be celebrating the fact that this Godawful week is over.
My little quote for the day sounds quite maudlin. Not in the least bit uplifting. But really, It's the opposite sentiment that I like about it. The -what have you got to lose - idea. For me, It really encapsulates that "Ah, F**k it" spirit.
Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.
