Hero in waiting

It's hard to believe that little Candy (four months old) will one day be someone's eyes. The difference that these little guys make to the lives of their 'people' is just priceless.

However, the cost of training the wee darlings isn't. Our house at school has been lucky enough to be able to raise money for the Guide Dogs for the Blind and this year we are hoping that we will be able to get the final part of the $22,500 it costs to get one of these guys across the finish line.

We're going to be doing our fun run (which we do every year) and this year Cousteau is going to run too. I usually do the photos so have to find some strong armed soul to take him around the course.

So, Candy - Unsuspecting hero.

As an aside, my first dog was called Candy. :)
