Tower House
Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . to go over the top
At the end of the Market Place in the small village of Moniaive is a building with a tall clock tower, which you might assume is the tolbooth or some other important municipal building. In actual fact it turns out that the tower is part of a private villa, the Tower House, built in the late 1800s.
It's possibly the most spectacular example of one-upmanship in stone you'll find anywhere ......................
