Birch polypore

Out on a walk, I found some fungus.
Apparently this has multiple uses (apart from being simply edible).
I took one home. On the way I did a Bob Mortimer type fall and poked myself in the eye with dead bracken.
I made some tea from it (bitter but strangely tasty). I tried to get a keener edge on a cooking knife with it. I tried to make a plaster from it (but had no cuts to cover). And then I dried it out to make kindling.
