Vienna Again
My English friend and I caught the train to Vienna for the day. The weather has turned cold as predicted but it was not too bad out of the wind. We went to the Naschmarkt which is a wonderful outdoor food market selling so many goodies that we can’t get locally. It is not cheap but has good quality products. Our first stop at the market was a coffee shop where the coffee was excellent and the chocolates delicious. The service was not up to Vienna standards but we were not in a hurry. After checking out every stall and taking note of some restaurants where the food looked good (for future reference). We had decided to try the Running Sushi restaurant next to the market for lunch today. It was quite small but friendly and cosy. The sushi and sashimi etc were good quality. The hot dishes could have been a little more varied. When we couldn’t move anymore we decided perhaps we should so we went back to the market and picked up a few things to take home. We caught the underground to a shopping precinct and looked around there until it was time to get our train home. My friend was disappointed that the regional train didn’t have a restaurant car so we bought a takeaway coffee to drink in peace on the way home. As the train took off I realized I hadn’t taken a single photo in Vienna so this was snapped through the window at the next station.
