Stepping Stones

The first thing is, I must apologise for this not being in focus. Camera was on a tripod and I'd switched to manual focus. Forgot to switch back to Auto focus when I took this shot. I simply could NOT NOT take the shot. It was Halloween Day for these Nottingham kids on their half term.

Wonderful day in the Japanese Garden at Newstead Abbey north of Nottingham, ancestral home of Lord Byron, the last of the Byrons to inhabit it. Beautiful grounds, lakes and a big house to explore. The Japanese Garden is always a treat to see in the Autumn. Bob the gardener told us that it's equally beautiful in Spring when the blossom is out.

He also told us about the photographers who come in early in the morning with their nubile, and perhaps not so nubile, models. Apparently, when they think no one's watching they strip down to the buff and get up to all sorts of poses.

Carol was exceptionally good company. We'd gone with photography in mind and neither of us minded when the other took time about framing a shot. The weather was kind too, which helped. Lovely Autumnal sunlight.
