Saint Cére

Thirteen euros for a key!  That's how much a replacement old fashioned mortice lock key costs in Saint Cére.  Mind you, collecting it gave us the excuse to walk around the picturesque town; twice, once to get the key, the second time to retrieve the umbrella that Naomi left on the cordonnière's  counter. There were kids in Halloween outfits everywhere going into the shops asking for bonbons.  Things must have been organised by the local chamber of commerce because everyone, even the grizzled and stern looking cordonnière had a bag of sweeties to give out. I blame us. Irish settlers took the Halloween tradition to the United States, now it seems to be celebrated everywhere.
