Halloween in the Parliament

This broach was being worn in the Chamber today by my colleague Christine Grahame MSP , one of the Deputy Presiding Officers.

When I remarked upon it she told me its touching Parliamentary provenance . It was given to her by the late Margo MacDonald who had a fondness for such things- she often wore the most astonishing costume jewellery.

Christine and the then Tory MSP Mary Scanlon had commented on this particular item that Margo was wearing in the Parliament one Halloween and she had then bought them one each , so that they could be the three witches in future .

I hope Mary still has hers and is wearing it today !
