Play that funky music!

One of the things I missed when I lived in Jordan was live music - there was a real scarcity of events. I'm not talking about the big name bands or artists, although that would have been good, but rather the grass roots musicians, pub bands and amateur performers at local venues; they were scarce indeed! You could find plenty of oud players, drums and bagpipes at weddings and the occasional Lebanese singer, but there was little else.

Here in Japan there is a live music venue on almost every corner of the city and street musicians perform in abundance. This lot are unlikely to be famous but they played their hearts out and had a small gathering of loyal fans who seemed not to notice the freezing temperatures! Live music is ace :)

There's nothing to compare to live music, there just isn't anything.
