Not the old station

Today S and I drove to Papamoa to my brother’s home for the weekend; the route took us across the Hauraki plains and through the Karangahake Gorge. We stopped just past the gorge; in Waikino. As a a youngster I lived in Waitekauri up in the hills from Waikino. In the summer we would catch a train to Tauranga or Te Puke. The old station was washed away about 50 years ago. In the 1980s the unwanted Paeroa station was shifted to Waikino, where it is a cafe, and the station for a tourist train to and from Waihi. 

The extra is of my siblings and me joined by our older sister’s widower.
